The BOSU ball is an effective training tool that can be used by a wide range of people. BOSU stands for "Both Sides Utilized" or "Both Sides Up". It consists of a flat base, attached to what is essentially half of an exercise ball.
Exercising with the BOSU ball is a fantastic way to improve your balance and core strength. Due to the unstable surface it provides when you stand on it, your body is forced to recruit numerous core and stabilizing muscles in order to balance on it.
It can be used by itself, or in conjunction with other equipment such as Kettlebells or Medicine Balls, to give you a really intense core and cardio workout. See my video for examples of how I use the BOSU ball in my exercise sessions:
